A record pay-out was ma<|c by the DalfiliebJ Dairy Co. on Wednesday, this being tlie final bonus of IJd. per lb. but-ter-fat for lust season. The total payment for the season was l/7f per lb. In addition 1/3 per lb. was paid for the month ending December 2. making the whole amount £7OOO divisuble amongst GO suppliers. Mr. J, W. Whelan, Government Orchard Inspector, who is nt present in Mnsterton, reports that firebliglit is prevalent in most of the householders’ orchards in the borough. It is some years since the Greytown School has given -a concert, and last night's performance was well worth the time and patience expended by the teachers, and they were rewarded by having a full house. The .scholars gave a good selection of choruses, duels, recitations. and dances. Miss Marjorie Trotman. an ex-pupil of the Gre-’tiwn School, assisted at tlie piano. Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream" was given by the High School pupils under the training of Miss Horton. M.A. At the conclusion of the concert, Mr. 11. G. Carter, clmirimtn of the School Commitlee, took the opportunity of presenting to Mr. Nightingale, who has been headmaster of the Greytown Schoo] for tlie Inst ten years, and is retiring at the end of this year, a Morris chair, suitably inscribed. and Io Mrs. Nightingale un Eastern fruit bowl. Mr. Nightingale replied on behalf of Mrs. Nightingale and himself. Mr. Carter also presented a gold medal to tlie dux of the school, Miss Minnie Smith.

The record payment of £15,185/5/9 to su;iplies was made by Ihe Mauriceville Co.op. Dairy Co., Lid., yesterday. Tills represents an advance on November butter-fat at the rate of 1-5 per lb, Ten .years ngo (November, 19J9) the payment for the corresponding month's butter-fat totalled £2431/0/7, whilst the total receipts for the season were onlv £14,934/ 1(5/4.
