PROGRESS LEAGUE
SUPPORT BY MASTERTON BOROUGH
Dominion Special Service
Masterton. December 18.
The Mnsterton Borough Council decided last night to support the Wairarapa Progress League for a further twelve months.
The Mayor (Mr. T. Jordan) mentioned that at the last meeting of the league he had informed the members that he thought the council would be prepared to carry on. because he felt that they would be agreed that to support tlie league for one year only would be simply waste of money. Councillor W. L. Frec, remarking that a year’s: support would be a half-hearted way of doing things, moved that tlie league be given a further year’s support. "What is the object of tlie league, any way?" asked Councillor T. Beetham. The Mayor replied that it was to weld tlie district into one united body. The fact that there had been conflict of opinion among the members of Hie league was. he thought, one of the strongest arguments that the league would. continue._ The council carried Councillor Free’s motion.
