MILK AT HOSPITAL

ALL PASTEURISED NOW. Monthly reports upon the milk supplies are made to the Wellington Hospital Board, and until now the reports have dealt with the money supplies and also city supply of pasteurised milk. Mr. J. Glover, at the Board meeting yesterday, stated, that it was common knowledge that there was a danger in drinking milk direct from the cows, no matter how well the herd was kept. The Medical Superintendent (Dr. H. Bayldon Ewen) stated that at the present time all milk used in the Hospital was pasteurised. That had only recently come into effect in regard to milk other than that supplied by the City Council, owing to two or three cases of typhoid fever which had occurred. Pasteurisation commenced on October 12.
