It was officially announced last night that the improvement in the condition of the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. Sir Joseph Ward) was being consistently maintained.
Mr. Justice Blair left Wellington for Auckland on Saturday, and will be away for about a fortnight. The Minister of Education (Hon. H. Atmore), and the Director of Education (Mr. T. B. Strong) will pay a visit to Christchurch toward the end of this month or the beginning of December. The Minister will discuss various matters with the Canterbury Education Board.
Mr. Joseph Metzger, an old identity of Bluff, 81 years of age, has recently returned from his ninth trip to England and the Continent.
Regret at the deaths of Messrs. James Mitchell and E. M. Blake is expressed in the annual report of St. John’s Presbyterian Church. The late Mr. Mitchell was a member of the church for 56 years, and an elder for 31 years. Mr. Blake was a member for 25 years, and an elder for six years.
Wing-Commander E. Grant-Dalton, Director of Air Services, was a passenger to Wellington from the north by Saturday’s Limited express.
