A SCOTT LETTER

PUBLISHED FOB FIRST TIME London, November 22. A hitherto unpublished letter of the late Captain Scott, addressed to “Aly Widow,” is included in tlie life of the explorer by Stephen Gwynn, published by John Lane. The letter was written when Captain Scott was waiting death, and said: "If anything happens to me I should like you to know how much you’ve meant to me, and what a pleasant recollection you are. with me. As I depart I want you to take the whole thing sensibly, as I am sure you wilt The boy will be your comfort. You know that' I cherish no sentimental rubbish about re-marriage, and when the right man comes to help you in life you ought to be your own happy self again.” The widow is now Lady Hilton Young.
