"I consider I’m as good a driver as any in New Zealand,” said a defendant in the Christchurch Traffic Court the other day. “That’s rather an unfortunate comparison,” commented Mr. E. C. Levvey. Later, when defendant admitted that he had been involved in other mishaps Senior-Sergeant T. Shanahan commented: “That rather .sweeping assertion of yours was not quite correct.” “I made no assertion,” said defendant. “I simply stated facts.”
