EASTERN SUBURBS TUNNEL
CONSTRUCTION OF NEW STREET The Local Bills Committee of the House of Representatives has added a new clause to the section of the European “Washing-up” Bill which empowers the transfer of part of the Wellington College site to the City Council for use in connection with the construction of the eastern suburbs tunnel. This gives the council authority to take so much of the substratum of the .town belt as is necessary for the construction of a new street to connect Patterson Street with any other street constructed on the town belt on the eastern side of Mount Victoria.
