INTER-CLUB MATCHES POSTPONED A special meeting of the Management Committee of the Wellington Lawn Tennis Association was held last evening. It was decided to .postpone the intej--clnl) matches, which were to have commenced with the fourth-grade teams today. This year it will be necessary to play most of tlie inter-club matclics oh the grass courts, and. owing to tlie rain yestfirday, it was ? not considered, advisable to play the matches to-day. It was stated that wet or line the committee has not sufficient hard courts to play interclub games unless the grass courts are in commission. Several hard , courts have to be reserved for the Miramar ground members, and until late in December the Te Rama Club has the hire of two hard courts. The association has received a donation of five pounds frpm Mr. J. H. Barker. junr., for tlie grandstand fund. Mr. Barker, a newcomer to IVellington. is manager of the IVestern Electric Company.
