UNITED FIRE BRIGADES
REQUESTS TO MINISTERS. The executive of the United Fire Brigades’ Association, after interviewing members of Cabinet yesterday, stated that it hnd reached n definite undcrstiipding with (lie Department of Internal Affairs ns to Ihe stains of the association. The Dlinister of Transport (Hon. W. A. Veitch) had given a sympathetic hearing to the representations in relation to the licensing of fire vehicles, and a request to the Minister of Education (Hon. 11. Atmore) that fire prevention should he tiiuglil in schools was received equally sympathetically. Mr. Atmore hail staled that lie would do everything possible to carry out the association's wishes in the hitter respect.
