THE WAGE “CUTS”
MASS MEETING OF RAILWAYMEN Dominion Special Service. _ Auckland, October 31.. A mass meeting of employees of Otalmhu Railway Workshops was beiu to-day to urge the Government to restore the wage cuts, also to reuiiest Cabinet to consider the whole question. Some 600 employees attended the meeting. The following resolution was carried at a general meeting of Hie members of the Wellington section, Post and telegraph Employees Association I n-'t this mooting views with disgust the I osr-master-General's reply to our representations ‘that nothing will be done to improve salaries this year.' This meeting would remind the members of the IJniteu Party that; as candidates for Parliament they, in most- eases, pledged themselves if elected to vote a living wage for adult workers in our service, and calls upon them to forthwith honour this pledge.
