A HALF-CROWN REWARD
While a Loudon visitor was fishing from Deal Pier recently his wallet, containing £BO, slipped from his breast pocket into the sea. Although fully clothed, the fisherman dived thirty feet from the pier in an effort to recover it. Instead of reaching it he got into difficulties and had to be rescued by fellow anglers and others who were on the pier. The wallet drilled away, but was recovered later by tbe Deal motor-boat Britannic. When the crew brought the wallet ashore the owner rewarded them with half a crown.
