JOURNALIST’S FACE SMACKED
AMERICAN ACTRESS RESENTS CRITICISM (Rec. October 31, 10 p.m.) London, October 31. Resenting his criticism of her performance in “Conscience,” at the Little Theatre, Lilian Foster, an American actress, smacked the face of Hannon Swaffer, the dramatic critic of the “Daily Express." “I smacked him whole-heartedly on behalf of America, said Miss Foster, in describing the assault, which occurred at a luncheon nt the Savoy Hotel. “If he continues to say such uncalled for things about Americans I will smack him again.” Mr. Swaffer had likened Miss Foster s voice to that of a ventriloquist's dc&.
