KINGSFORD SMITH
4 ENTERTAINED AT SUVA PROJECTED AIR SERVICE (Rec. October 31, 7 p.m.) Suva, October 31. Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith, who is a passenger on the Aorangi, was tendered a luncheon to-day by the Chamber of Commerce. The Mayor, seconding Major Joske’s toast of “Our Visitor,” said Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith and the Southern Cross had done more to make Fiji known to the far corners of the earth than anyone or anything else. Squadron-Leader Kingsford Smith, replying, said his associate, FlightLieutenant Ulm, regretted that he was not able to come to Fiji to renew old friendships. They hoped within five months to establish an east-to-west airline. _________
