PREPARING FOR SEASON The Hutt District Cricket Club will hold its first practice on Saturday on the Recreation Ground, when the recentlyacquired slip-fielding machine will be brought into use. WELLINGTON BOYS’ LEAGUE. The annual meeting of the Wellington Boys’ Cricket League was held on Monday. The president (Mr. C. G. Wilson) occupied the chair, there being present some 25 delegates from affiliated clubs. The president, commenting ou the report, congratulated the league on its position, and on the greatly improved outlook for next season. In view of outstanding amounts by clubs, the sooner unfinancial members were made to realise that unless dues were paid such clubs woull be withdrawn from the competitions, the better for all concerned. The election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Mr. W. R. Bock; vicepresidents, Messrs. C. G. Wilson, F. K. Kelling, D. A. Ewen, H. M. McGirr, E. M. Ryan, F.. McClusky, W. J. Blundell, J. Hayden, Rev. T. F. Taylor, W. J. Jordan, D. McKenzie, J. P. Corder, A. Varney, D. F. Mason, and R. S. Johnston; hon. secretary, J. Hitchen; hon. treasurer, R. W. Osborn; management committee, F. C. Gentry, W. Vaney, —. Janes, J. D. McFarlane, R. J. Dunn, J. Keene, and L. C. Nimmo. A motion by Mr. R. W. Osborn, of which previous notice had been given, concerning revision of rules, aroused considerable discussion, and resulted in the matter being referred to the ’ incoming management committee, to draft revised rules and submit them to a special general meeting of delegates from clubs for approval. The prospects for the coming season seem bright, several new clubs having been formed. There Is every possibility that the number/of entries will be double that of last season. - ~
