KELBURN V. WELLINGTON. A return match between the Kelburn and Wellington Badminton clubs took place on Monday. After' a series of close games the match resulted in a draw, six games all. Although Badminton is not yet well known in Wellington, it has been played off and on for over ten years. The growing popularity of the game is shown by the formation of new, clubs and by the waiting list in the two clubs now existing. The detailed scores are as follow (Wellington Club players and scores mentioned first) : — Men’s Doubles. —France and Burns beat Bryant and Fossette, 10 —15, 18 —14, 15—4; Smellie and Rout lost to Crombie and Wilson, 4—15, 12—15; Evan Scott and Rogers lost to Bryant and Bryant, B—ls.8 —15. 14—IS. Ladies’ Doubles. —Miss Welch and Miss Brady beat Miss Glover and Miss Hind, 15—10, 15—4 ; Miss Bennett and Miss Hall beat Mrs. Short and Miss Halliwell, 3 —15, 12 —15; Miss Conibear and Miss Gray lost to Miss Stevens and Miss Gibbons, 4 —15, 6 —15.
