ANXIETY FOR FRENCH AIRMEN Australian Press Association. Paris, September 29. Anxiety Is felt as to the fate of Captains Costes and Belleconte. It is certain that their petrol was exhausted early to-day, and it is surmised that they came down in Siberia and have no means of communication. They were sighted only once in Germany.
The French airmen, Captains Costes and Belleconte, left Le Bourget In an attempt at a record non-stop flight with a 600-horse power engined aeroplane carrying 1200 gallons of petrol. The airmen hoped to keep aloft for fifty hours and to cover 5500 miles. Their destination was Harbin.
