GERMAN REGRETS
BRITISH TROOPS LEAVE RHINE (United Service.) London, September 29. The “Daily News” correspondent at Wiesbaden says that a German band played “Old Comrades” as the British flag was finally hauled down at the Konigstein Barracks before the departure of the rearguard of the Leicestershires. The town was soon bedecked with German Republican colours, but there was no other sign of rejoicing. Some of the townspeople openly expressed regret at the departure of the British troops.
