Dominion Special Service.
Palmerston North, August 30.
The Mayor of Palmerston North (Mr. A. J. Graham) interviewed the general manager of railways (Mr. H. H. Sterling) at Wellington yesterday, and inquired concerning the possibilities of acquiring part of the railway deviation area for an aerodrome if the site was suitable.
Mr. Sterling intimated that the Department was prepared to negotiate in that direction if necessary, and stated that the land was being leased for dairying purposes, many applications having been received.
