GOVERNOR-GENERAL OF SOUTH AFRICA
DUKE OF YORK MENTIONED.
London, August 19.
The “Daily Sketch” says that it has good authority for stating that the Duke of York is almost certain to succeed the Earl of Athlone as GovernorGeneral of South Africa.
The Earl of Athlone, who has held the South African post since 1923, is related to the Royal Family, being the third son of the late Duke of Teck and the late Princess Mary Adelaide, daughter of the Duke of Cambridge.
