FIZZLES OUT IN EUROPEAN CAPITALS SCHEMES FRUSTRATED BY POLICE Australian Press Association. Paris, August 1. The threats of Communist mob displays have hitherto not materialised. Everything is quiet. The workers mostly ignored the summons to down tools. The police seized the whole issue of the newspaper “L'Humanite.” Communist Day fizzled out in all the capitals. Not a skull was cracked. Similarly the military aud police measures frustrated Communist schemes in Vienna and Athens, where disturbances were camouflaged as anti-war demonstrations.
