TECHNICAL COLLEGE
DISCUSSION AT CITY COUNCIL The urgent need of the Wellington Technimal College Board of Governors for funds for building purposes was brought before the City Council on Thursday night, when Councillor T. Forsyth asked the Mayor if he could give any idea when the negotiations would be completed for the council to acquire the education property in Wakefield Street. They would also like to have an idea when payment could be expected. He believed it was only .. question of agreeing on the price, and the board was in a very bad way in the matter of accommodation. The Minister of Education was considering the matter, and he (the speaker) thought a clause might be put through to get the necessary loan.
It was decided that the Mayor, Councillors IV. H. Bennett, and T. Forsyth wait upon the Minister of Education in regard to the matter, and report to the next meeting of the council.
