CITY MILK
SUMMER PRICES The City Council last night agreed that the slling prices of milk an dcream for the ensuing summer season be as follow: —Milk, 6d. per quart retail, Is. 7d. per gallon wholesale; cream, 2s. 6d. per pint retail, 17s. Bd. per gallon wholesale, such prices to be effective as from August 29. Councillor W. H. Bennett said they were now paying suppliers Is. 9d. per lb. of buttr-fat for the milk, as against Is. 6d., and the department could not make any reduction In cream prices. It would take the department all it could do to come out right this year.
