TRI-WEEKLY NIGHT TRAIN
WELLINGTON TO TARANAKI
A tri-weekly night train both ways between Wellington and Taranaki was asked for in the House of Representatives by Mr. W. J. Bolson (Stratford), speaking on behalf of Taranaki members, in order, he said, to meet the convenience of the general travelling public. At the present time, he declared, great inconvenience and loss of time was caused the business and travelling public of Taranaki owing to the train service between several important towns and Wellington being a day service only. The Minister of Railways (Hon. W. B. Taverner) stated in reply that the possibilities of service in the direction mentioned were recognised by the Department. and the matter was receiving attention with a view to working out the most economical way of meeting the position.
