INCENDIARIST AGAIN AT WORK
THREE CHRISTCHURCH FIRES LAST NIGHT RAILWAY SHEDS ABLAZE Dominion Special Service. Christchurch, August 1. Shortly before midnight a vivid glare iu the sky attracted attention in the city and suburbs, and it was; discovered that one of the big railway sheds in Waltham Road was ablaze. At midnight it was still burning fiercely, and some of the adjoining houses were alight. Further particulars are not yet available. ■Two' other fires were reported tonight, one i. Spreydon and one in Beckenham, one .of which was distinctly the work of an incendiarist. SPECTACULAR BLAZE • 15,000 GALLONS OF PETROL AND OIL By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, August 1. The most spectacular fire witnessed in Christchurch for many years occurred at about 11 o’clock this evening, when 15,000 gallons of petrol ’ and od belonging to I). H. Brown and Son, in Carlyle Street, were destroyed.
