TURTLE ISLANDS
ANGLO-AMERICAN TREATY Australian Press Assn.—United Service. Washington, July 30. A treaty between Great Britain and the United States to determine the sovereignty of the Turtle Islands and to establish the southern boundary of the Philippines, has been drafted by the State Department for signature this week. It is expected to acknowledge American sovereignty over the Turtles and assign administration to the British. Since 1855 the British have administered the islands under the provisions of a Spanish-German-British protocol. After the Philippines were ceded to the United States by Spain the United States entered into a provisional agreement with Britain to continue tbBritish administration.
