ARMED BANDIT ESCAPES (Rec. August 1, 0.25 a.m.) Sydney, July 31. There was a sensational holdup at White Bay Garage at Balmain to-night by a masked armed bandit, who, after covering three employees with a revolver, stole £35 from a cast register. Employees pursued the bandit, who, although he fired two shots, was overtaken, but punched his pursuers off and then escaped In a waiting motor-car.
