RED DISTURBANCES
PLANNED FOR TO-DAY PRECAUTIONS BY GERMAN POLICE Australian Press Assn. —United Service. (Rec. July 21, 9.30 p.m.) Berlin, July 31. Although the police have taken complete precautions against disturbances on August 1, they do not expect a repetition of the May Day riots. They will allow Communists to make orderly demonstrations, but disorders are expected in the Rhur owing to extensive Communist activities and agitation to prepare for civil war. SWISS MEASURES TO KEEP OUT COMMUNISTS ("Times” Cables.) (Rec. July 31, 9.30 p.m.) London, July 30. “The Times” Geneva correspondent states that measures have been taken throughout Switzerland to prevent the entry of foreign Communists. The police charged with baton and sword 250 Germans attempting to cross the border at Rheinfelden, injuring twentyfive. AGITATORS ARRESTED IN POLAND (United Service.) (Rec. July 31, 9.30 p.m.) Warsaw, July 30. The authorities have imprisoned 300 Communist agitators, chielly at Warsaw. Vilna. Katowltz. and Lemberg.
