MINING DISASTER
FIREDAMP IN SILESIAN COLLIERY TWENTY-FOUR MEN KILLED Australian Press Association. Berlin, July 30. A mining catastrophe at Waldenburg, in Lower Silesia, killed twentyfour, and it is feared that twelve others will not recover. Firedamp suddenly broke out like a hail of fire, and spread through a shaft 1350 feet below the ground. The twelve who escaped were shockingly burned.
