PRINCE OF WALES CUP
HOLDERS DEFEATED By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, July 31. The first Rugby football match for the Prince of Wales Cup, played at Eden Park to-day, resulted in a win for TaiHauauru, the Maori team representing the Western North Island districts, which defeated Tai Tokerau, the holders (re---esenting the Northern districts) by 12 Points to 6. The ground was very heavy, but some fine forward play and good handling by both sides were witnessed. Tries for the winners were scored by Tatana (two). Hokaia and Pelham, and for the losers by Keretene; a penalty goal was kicked by Turei.
