ANNUAL MEETING. At the annual meeting of the Society of Musicians, last Saturday, Mr, L. F. Wat kins (president), speaking of the year just ended, mentioned several events ot importance which had recently taken place. The Society had just completed the twenty-first year of its existence (an anniversary dinner having been held last September to celebrate the occasion), and it seemed fitting that at such a time the Registration Act for which the various societies had hoped for several years, should come into force. F. Watkins: vice-presidents, Miss Valerie Corliss and Mr, H. Temple White: secretary, Mr. Trevor F. Shea; treasurer.. Mr. F., G. Cray; executive council, Miss G. Kennedy, Miss K. Clere. Mr. John Bishop, Mr. Harison Cook, Mr. Robert Parker, Mr. H. Godier. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr. R. H. Webb (hon. solicitor). Mr. J. W. Jack (hon. auditor), and Mr. Cdrtwright (for providing a room for meetings). Mr. Watkins spoke of the carillon, for which the society had undertaken to provide nlayers, as well as donating a substantial amount of money. . . In accordance with the decision of the last annual conference, the Societv of Musicians has now changed its official name to the New Zealand Society of Professional Teachers of Music, Wellington Division (Iheorp.).
