The “Daily News” correspondent at Geneva says that remarkable disclosures regarding the military situation in Austria are contained in the final report of the Inter-Allied Commission which controls the Liquidation Board, the publication coinciding with the Ambassadors’ Conference’s announcement that the board now was dissolved. The report accuses Austria of keeping war material hidden during the board’s investigations. “Machine guns, rifles, and ammunition still exist which could be used to arm many of the associations existing in the country in case of need. An army of 200,000 to 300,000 could be created.” The report declares that one factory has already obtained extra machinery and is simply awaiting the departure of the board to begin the manufacture of war material. It also alleged that the German and Austrian army headquarters were secretly co-operating, including the exchange of officers.
