WORSER BAY AMATEUR SWIMMING CLUB
The annual prize-giving dance of the Worser Bay Amateur Swimming and Lafe S ving Club was held at Worser Bay on Saturday. There was a large attendance of members and their friends, and a most enjoyable evening was spent by all. During the evening prizes won during the season were presented by the club, patron. Mr. R. Semple, M.P., who congratulated the club on its most successful season. Prizes were then presented as follow: —Lynam Cup (boys under 14), I. Gemdall; Aitkin’s Cup (boys under lb), L. Mackie; Blair Cup. L. G. Grnnstone; De Rose Memorial Cup, V. L. Allan; Brodie Cup, J. W. Newport; Cup, Heath Memorial Cup. and club championship, A. Hepburn; Collie trophy, T. Hull; committeemens race, J. M. Blakeney; Allan medal, C. Young. The following gained bronze medallions as awarded by the Royal Life Saving Society: J. Ames, V. Ames, T. Rowell, K. Janes. A. Jones, J. Scotland, L. Jefferies, and R. Gadd. J. W. Newport rained the hon. instructor’s certificate of the Royal Life Saving Society. The Wahler and novice cups were also presented to the winning teams. The former is for a four-man cun out, and the latter for a seven-men .an out. ... At the conclusion of the prizegiving cheers were given for Mr R. Semple and for the prize-winners. Great credit was given to Mesdames I. Blakeney and V. •Ulan, also the secretary, Mr. J. W. Newport. and committee for the capable arrangement of the dance, which was considered one of the most successful in the history of the club.
