BOWLS

VICTORIA CLUB. The annual report of the Victoria Bowling Club shows club affairs to be in a sound position. The active list Is now full, there being 110 active, four super, and one life members. The year was started with a credit balance of £lO Ils. 10d., and ended with a credit balance of £146 10s. 9d., a part of which the committee recommends, should be expended in painting, reconditioning the electrical installation in connection with the change-over, improving paths about the grounds, providing additional seating, etc. The introduction of solo whist, the committee remark, was probably the reason for a decrease in billiards receipts from £7O 3s. 6d. to £55 10s. The Billiards Limited Challenge Shield was lost to the Hataltal Club during the year. A record of pennant and other matches is included in the report, and a special vote of thanks is made to the Kelburn, Petone. Central, Island Bay, and Eastbourne Clubs tor providing room for Victoria Club surplus players, who would otherwise have had no play on pennant Saturdays. Thanks were tendered to lady helpers, the delegate to the Centre, Mr. M. Marks, the committee, and the Press. The following nominations for club offices have been received: —For president, Mr. .1. G. Dutlite: honorary secretary, Mr. G. A. Clark, honorary treasurer, Mr. W. 11. Chittey and Mr. IV. N. Tucker; committee, Messrs. A. F. Baudinet. C. Campbell. A. G. Dixon, E. G. Griffin, IV. 11.
