TONGARIRO TROUT FISHING
GOVERNOR-GENERAL SECURES GOOD SPORT Dominion Special Service. Tokaanu, May 3. His Excellency the Governor-General (Sir- Charles Fergusson), fishing in the Tongariro River yesterday, secured thirteen beautiful rainbow trout, the largest being a 10-pounder, and averaging 6J pounds. Fishing again this morning before breakfast His Excellency landed a further four fish, the largest being another 10-pounder. The other two rods In this party have done almost equally as well as His Excellency, a total of thirty-five fish being landed in a day and a half. Many other anglers residing at Asher's Camp have had most excellent sport, resulting from the recent floods. The sport has not been better at any stage of the season, and should continue good to the end of the month.
