AUCKLAND UNION DECISIONS By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, May 1. The Auckland Rugby Union to-night decided it was in sympathy with the Hawke’s Bay Union’s protest against playing a trial match on June 3 on account of such fixture interfering with set representative games on that day. It was also decided to inform Hawke’s Bay that unless the New Zealand Union could put forward a sound reason for an early tour to New South Wales, the Auckland Union would support the Canterbury Union’s motion that the tour be postponed for one month. With reference to the New Zealand Union’s proposal that in view of the British team’s tour next season all matches this"season and next be played under international rules it was decided at the request of several clubs to hold a Special general meeting on May 9 to discuss the proposal.
