LARGER BALL DECIDED AGAINST (United Service.) London, April 30. The “Daily News” states that the Rules of Golf Committee has cabled the United States Golf Association, stating that after exhaustive experiments with a larger and lighter ball, viz., 1.68 inches diameter and 1.55 ounces weight, it was decided that the advantages of a change were not commensurate with the resulting disturabnees in the" conditions of play and manufacture, and that therefore it did not propose to ask the Royal and Ancient Club to sanction a change.
