W AIR ARAP A MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. Carterton, April 19. The Management Committee of the Wairarapa Rugby Union met at Carterton last night, Mr. W. G. Lamb presidn A deputation from the Schools’ Rugby Union asked for representation on the Management Committee with a voice in the proceedings; a grant of £25 to Assist southern boys in the matter of travelling, and the provision of representative caps, and that coaches and the headmasters of senior schools be provided with passes. It was decided to inform the Schools’ Union that under the union’s constitution there is no authority to appoint a delegate, that a grant of £lO be made for travelling, and the union pay for the representative caps; and that the coaches and the president and secretary of the Schools’ Union be provided with passes. Accounts amounting to £3l 10s. were passed for payment It was decided to procure three dozen copies of the Referees’ Hand Book. A number of schools acknowledged the receipt of footballs, for which they extended their thanks. A letter from Mr. J. F. Thompson, of Greytown, suggesting that the jubilee year of football in the Wairarapa be recognised by arranging a match between Greytown and Carterton on July 6, was referred to the Fixtures Committee for it to arrange it if possible. The Referees’ Association wrote suggesting that as Mr. H. J. McKenzie had retired from the position of secretary, for business reasons, they desired the union to recognise his long association with Rugby. Messrs. Lamb, Edwards, nnd Sellar were apnointed a committee to bring down a recommendation at the next meeting. Nominations of teams were received as follow:—Hikurangi College, a third and a sixth grade team ; Masterton Club, and Carterton Chib, teams in all six grades; Gladstone, second and junior; Old Boys and Greytown Clubs, senior, junior, and third grade; l'-itherston, three teams in different grades. G. Cundy (Featherston) and F. Ford (Greytown) were reinstated juniors, and the applications on behalf of Bob Donald (Featherston) and A. Minehan (Grevtown) held over. The tender of Mr. W. Hall was accepted for the fruit-stall rights at Carterton, and that of Mrs. Morris for the same rights at the Memorial Park, Masterton. The secretary and treasurer were appointed a fixture committee, and Messrs. McKenzie, Lamb, and Tilyard a postponement committee.

A grant of £5 was made to the St. John Ambulance Brigade in appreciation of their services last season.
