MALTESE DIFFICULTY
REQUEST FOR APOSTOLIC INVESTIGATOR (British Official Wireless.) Rugby, March 6. In the House of Commons to-day. Mr. Leopold Amery, Colonial Secretary, stated that the Government, at the instance of the Maltese authorities, had instructed the British Minister at the Vatican to approach the Holy See with a request that an'Apostolic visitor be sent to Malta to investigate certain difficulties that had arisen, including the dispute between the Maltese Minis- . trv and the local ecclesiastical authorities. . Mr. Amery added that there was no dispute between the British Government and the Vatican. There were certain controversies with the Maltese authorities, who had requested the intervention of an Apostolic visitor to compose the difficulties.
