The Victorian Rifle Association’s meeting was continued to-day. In the Craig Williamson Match, ten shots at 800 yards, Simmonds (49) finished third, and took £4. Masefield (49) finished with an inner and took £2. Boon and Nix (each 48), and Whiteman (47) each received £l. Other scores were as follow: H. Feast, Piper, James, and Orr (each 44), Kerr (43), Roots (42), Bolton,‘Mclvor and Swanson (40), Paterson (38), Hood (37), J. Feast (34), Solar (32).. In the Sargood match, ten shots at 900 yards, the wind was so strong that an allowance up to twenty-three feet was necessary. This resulted in poor scores. Kerr put up a good performance, registering New Zealand’s fourth win with a score of 47, taking the match and £lO. Boon (45) took £2. Winners of £1 were Roots and Masefield (44), Nix (42), Bolton and Simmonds (41). Of the other New Zealand.s Piper made 39, H. Feast and Whiteman 38, Hood and Mclvor 37, Paterson 35, Swanson and James 34, Feast 32, Orr 31, Soler 24. In the Syme- aggregate, Masefield was fourth, with 269 points, five points behind the winner. He took £l5. Kerr was seventh with 266 and won £5; Simmonds eighth (266) won £3. Fourteen of the eighteen New Zealanders got n the prize-list of the aggregate. The opening stage of the King’s Prize was commenced. The atmosphere was cool, but the wind I ,was still gusty. Seven shots at three, fiVe, and six hundred yards were fired. H. Feast showed some of his New -Zealand brilliance, being beaten for first place only in the count back with 102. He takes second prize (£6). Winners of £1 include Kerr (99). Hood (98), Nix (97), Masefield (96). Other scores were; Roots and' James (95), Boon and Simmonds (94), Mclvor, Orr, and J. Feast (93), Paterson and Soler (92), Bolton (89), Piper (88).
