ANNUAL MEETING OF LADIES’ auxillAßT . The Ladies’ Auxiliary of the Wellington East Girls’ College Parents Association held its annual meeting last night. The annual report stated that the year had proved very successful. Owing to the largeness of the district which their activities covered, representatives of various districts had been assigned the task of forming committees in their localities, A deputation to the late .nister of Education (Hon. R. A- Wright) had resulted in an improvement to the conditions under which the girls’ gymnasium exercises had to be performed. During the year a concert, a fair, a jumble sale, and numerous social functions had been held: with the result that over £3OO had been raised. , The election of officers resulted:—President, Mrs. Mitchell; vice-presidents, Mesdames Lancaster, Gambrill, Chatfield, Highet, Halley, and Marshall; secretary anl treasurer, Mrs. King; district committees : Seatoun and Miramar, Mesdames Lancaster, Small, Barker, orbes, Hawker, Austin, Stone, and Murphy. Lyall Bay and Kilbirnie, Mesdames Ashenden, Mehaffey, Castle. de Launey, Whitely, Anderson, Gambrill. Christie, and Mitchell. Hataitai and Roseneath, Mesdames Barker, McLaren, Highet. Sims, Young, Murrell, Stock, and Turner ; city, and Newtown, Mesdames Hands, Down. Job. A. Duncan, Denby, Holdsworth. Pollard, Eberbt, Fetohay, White. Island Bay and Berhampore, Misdames Whiteford. Hally, Chatfield, S. Duncan, Brooker, and McFarlane. A vote of thanks was accorded Mesdames F. Holdsworth and S. Duncan for their work during the four years of the association’s life. Both ladies suitably replied.
