SCHOOL PICNIC

Last Wednesday the Brooklyn-JUornlngton-Vogeltown schools picnic was held" at Maidstone Park, the thousand or more' children, parents and friends being transported thither in special trains. The conditions were Ideal and a comprehensive sports programme was got off. The wants and cares of the children were excellently attended to, so that everyone enjoyed themselves.. During an interval in the sports prdgramme Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., presented, the following, special prizes:— Dux medal, 1928, lan Pears; Bailey Cup (for most Improved player at football) and engraved gold medal, Alec Badland; Thelma Arrowsmith and Agnes Knight were both awarded a -handsome engraved gold brooch for good .attendance, 1922-1928, both having completed seven years in' the Brooklyn Siihobl without being absent. Special thanks (were stated to be due to the members of the Home and School Association, particularly Mrs. Bentley, Mrs. McLellan and Mr. Sadd (chairman), for. the great assistance to the committee, also the St. John" Ambulance nurses, Mrs. Miller and Mrs, Bruce, who, with Dr. Houghton, had many minor accidents to attend to during the day thereby rendering an invaluable service to the teaching staff and the committee.- ■ ■
