PUNISHED FOR CRIME

New Plymouth, March 2. In the Supreme Court this morning Mr. Justice Smith imposed the following sentences: —William Draper, eight charges of forgery,and uttering, reformative detention for one year; Ernest I' rederick Loesch, carnal knowledge, two years’ reformative detention;; Stanley, William Roy Cliatergee, assault with intent to commit rape, three years hard labour; William Joseph Badley, theft as a servant, and failure to account for moneys, reformative detention for one year; and Robin Douglas Bloor, carnal knowledge, four months’ imprisonment. Oswald Henry Parker, on five charges ,f breaking and entering and theft, and Archibald William Parkes, on charges of breaking and entering, and attempted breaking and entering, were dealt with jointly. Parker was sentenced to three years at a Borstal Institute, and Parkes to two years at a BorstalTnstitute. John Joseph Herbert Rush, on two charges ot breaking and entering and. theft, was sentenced to one years’ imprisonment. CASES AT HAMILTON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. • Hamilton, March 2. 1 In the Supreme Court, Mr. Justice Blair passed sentence as follows: — Arthur Cook, breaking and entering, and theft at Ohaupo, six months' imprisonment; Dan O’Regan, forging cheques at Morrinsville, three years’ probation.
