The new church hull of the Karori Presbyterian Church was officially opened yesterday morning, the service being conducted by the Rev. A. Bruce Todd, 8.A., minister in charge. There was a large congregation. The preacher based his remarks on Psalm 122, verse 1, “I was glad when they said unto me, let us go into the House of the Lord.” The Rev. R. Inglis, M.A., took the afternoon service, ami the Rev. It. J. Howie, 8.A., Moderator of the Presbytery of Wellington, addressed a crowded church iu the evening. A special feature of the service was the singing led by the choir. The opening the new building synchronised witli the fourth anniversary of the establishment of a branch of the Presbyterian Church at Karori. The building comprises a hall or churchroom, forty feet long and twenty-two feet wide, with two large class-rooms behind. It is situated at the corner of the main road and the recently-formed Newcombe Crescent. The walls are of brick throughout, and in the churchroom are left exposed iu the interior. The roof is steeply pitched, and is open right up to the apex, thus giving greatly added height to tlie interior. The inside furnishings were gifts from members of the congregation. The seating accommodation is for about 150, chairs being used, and the church is warmed by hot water and electric radiators.
