Dr. T. H. A. Valintine, DirectorGeneral of Health, was farewelled by the Minister of Health and officers of his Department at Parliamentary Buildings on Friday afternoon, prior to his. departure for ’ London. Dr. Valintine will represent New Zealand at several congresses on the Continent, also at a hospital congress at Atlanta City, United States of America.
Mr. R. M. Watson, S.M., of Feilding, is in Wellington, and will be relieving at the Magistrate's Court this week.
Mr. W. G. Riddell has returned to Wellington from a visit to Australia. Mr. Justice Herdman will leave Wellington to-day for Wanganui on business connected with the Prisons Board, of which he is acting-chairman. Mr. B. M. Gibson, of the Paraffine Company (Inc.), America, was a passenger by the Marama for Sydney on Friday. Mr. Gibson, who is well known in local Rugby and cricket circles, has left to take up a position with his firm overseas.
Mr. H. J. Wynne, railways signal engineer, is visiting Auckland. Mr. F. G. Cray, who has beeu absent on holiday in Picton and the Sounds, has returned to Wellington completely restored to health. The Rev. Dr. J. T. Pinfold has returned from Auckland, where he attended the Methodist Conference.
