CONFERENCE OF EXPERTS. A conference is to take place to-day between representatives of the bacon curing industry and the chemistry officers of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, to dis.cuss the matter of chemical curing. An officer of the Department last year visited England, and inspected bacon curing factories there, generally investigating the industry. The matter of bacon curing is one that is engaging a good deal of attention in the Dominion at the present time owing to the difference in opinion and in practice as to the use of borie acid in the curing process.
