TWO VESSELS LOST
IN GALE OFF AMERICAN COAST (United Service.) (Rec. February 13, 5.5 p.m.) Vancouver, February 12. The fierce gale caused the loss of two freighters. The steamer Alloway was being to,wed from the Aleutian Islands, where she was disabled. The towline broke and the ship was abandoned. It is believed the remnants of her crew escaped. The Japanese vessel Meiyo Marti, lumber-laden, was driven aslipre at Aiktak Island, and is a total loss. The crew are believed to be safe.
