MAGISTRATE’S COURT

BY-LAW AND CIVIL CASES

Offenders against the by-laws were dealt with by Mr. T. B. McNeil, SAI., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Owing to the absence of Patrol-Officer Morrison through illness a number of cases were adjourned until February 26. For speeding Walter Cotton was convicted and ordered to pay costs; Edward Evans was fined £2; Hastings Farrington, £2; Walter Henderson, £1 10s.; Vincent Jervis, £2; Richard Teal, £2. For dangerous driving William Harvey was fined £l, Wilfred Jarman £3, John McCale £4 and Patrick Ryan £3.

For leaving a car unattended Ernest Ford, Robert Herron and Arthur Pearce were each fined £1 and costs. For parkin'- at a tram stop Thomas Norris Baker and Percy Olliver were both fined 10s. For driving without a license Ernest Evans, Daniel O’Connor and . Patrick Rvan were each fined £l. * . For failing to give way George Piaggi was fined 10s.
