ON NORTH-WEST FRONTIER IMMENSE PROGRESS IN PACIFICATION (United Service.) Delhi, January 11. The eleventh annual report of the North-Western Frontier Province shows that immense progress has been made in pacification as the result of the British policy of peaceful penetration through the extension of firstclass roads. “Nothing,” writes Mr. Bolton, the Chief Commissioner, “is more symbolical of the change in the tribesmen’s vlpwpoint than the increasing requests for Government intervention in purely tribal matters. Mahsud women value the advantages of Pax Britannica as reducing crime and .border feuds, thus saving their menfolk.
