MELBA IN LONDON
— brilliant home-coming DINNER. | (Australian Press Association.) London, January 11. Dame Nellie Melba had a brilliant home-coming dinner aud subsequent musical evening in a West End residence previously owned by the Duchess of Argyll. Dame Melba, who herself comributed to the musical programme, inspired overwhelming enthusiasm, aud was greeted with cries of “You’re wonderful.” “May be,” she replied, “but only because I keep studying and working always.”
