HARBOURS ASSOCIATION
ANNUAL CONFERENCE A lengthy order paper will face delegates to the annual conference of the Harbours Association, which will open at Auckland on January 30. More than 80 remits will be discussed at the conference, which 58 out of a possible 72 delegates have signified their intention to attend. The chairman of the conference will be Mr. H.'R. Mackenzie, chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board, and vice-president of the Harbours Association, The Minister of Marine, the Hon. J. G. Cobbe, who is also, chairman of the Wellington Harbour Board, will attend the conference and deliver an address. The Mayor of Auckland (Mr. G. Baildon) will welcome delegates to the northern city, and a programme of entertainment, including tours of the harbour, has been arranged by the Auckland Harbour Board.
The delegates representing the Wellington Harbour Board at the conference will be Messrs. G. Mitchell and D. J. McGowan and Captains C. McArthur and C. F. Post.
